Newsletter Autumn 2013
It has been a busy year for Botanical Traditions for the last year, with lots of exciting projects, new staff joining the team, and a new garden maintenance service offered.
Creating a garden is great fun and very rewarding. However, the temptation to run outside and start digging holes, removing trees, and sticking down turf can be very strong, but without an overall plan the results are often disappointing.
So whether you have a small courtyard garden or a large country estate we can help you match your individual tastes and lifestyle needs to your garden space.
We believe a garden is an extension of our living space – it should be unique and given the same consideration as the interior of the house if not more. People take considerable time to choose interior decorations and a garden should be no different. It is easier to paint an interior room than to to change established trees or plants. As landscape architects and horticulturists we help you design all elements of your garden including hard surfaces and decking, irrigation, lighting, soil preparation and planting. We can also prepare plans for council should you require a building permit.
We look at both the site conditions and the requirements of our clients and combine these to ensure that our clients get the gardens they love and not just the latest fad or craze. We do this with sustainability in mind and have a preference for sustainable materials and techniques.
We work closely with our clients beginning with the schematic or concept design phase, through the preliminary design phase and finishing in documentation if required. We are also able to assist clients find suitable contractors as well as undertake some of the landscaping through our firm with our employees rather than outside contractors. This means that you get the maximum benefit from our horticultural background.
